Kohler Co. embraces culture of agility and productivity with Microsoft 365

Global manufacturer Kohler had just begun implementing Microsoft 365 when the pandemic hit. With employees all over the world affected by new work-from-home mandates, the company turned to Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (previously Windows Virtual Desktop). Kohler tailored its response to each country and addressed shortages of equipment by leveraging the Azure Virtual Desktop capabilities that enable employee-owned devices to connect to on-premises engineering systems as well as other work-critical resources. FIS spearheads a digital transformation using Azure Virtual Desktop

As part of a larger digital transformation effort, financial services provider FIS was already moving its workforce to Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop when COVID-19 forced the company to hasten their adoption. Within a week of deployment, FIS had about 6,000 users with around 1,500 concurrent Azure Virtual Desktop instances. Each environment can be tailored, which especially helps in-house developers gain quick access to the specialized tools they need. Staff can be onboarded and offboarded quickly without having to configure or decommission hardware, or even visit the office. Contingent staff receive temporary, project-specific access to everything they need for their assigned tasks.
