As part of a larger digital transformation effort, financial services provider FIS was already moving its workforce to Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop when COVID-19 forced the company to hasten their adoption. Within a week of deployment, FIS had about 6,000 users with around 1,500 concurrent Azure Virtual Desktop instances. Each environment can be tailored, which especially helps in-house developers gain quick access to the specialized tools they need.

Contingent staff receive temporary, project-specific access to everything they need for their assigned tasks. Management of security and privacy are simplified, and access to virtual resources can be monitored and audited by a centralized administration team.
